Community Craft Skills Project

Creativity is at the heart of this project. Creativity mixed with imagination to be precise and sky is the limit. Skills such as Dressmaking, Embroidery, Knitting, and Crochet or any skill that you enjoy. Our expert tutors are at hand and the environment is friendly and welcoming. We are all inclusive. This Project will help service users to build personal development, come out of isolation, meet others in similar situation and socialise. This continuing process will help enhance social cohesion. The improved confidence and high self-esteem will make service users feel less isolated and depressed through participating in cultural and age-sensitive activities with tutor and peer support. Thus, helping to bring people together and build strong relationship.

For this project we have formed links with a major London hospital and we will be making and supplying gifts to the children’s wing. We will be making fancy Children’s blankets that can be used in both winter and summer. Additionally, we will be making cardigans, hats, gloves and woollen fancy shoes etc. adhering to the hospital safety requirements.

This is another innovative project that we have started and thanks to National Lottery Community Fund we are in the second year of the project.

Expansion of this Project & Further Information - Valentine Day Launch

Thank you letter from St. Thomas' Hospital

Dear Bal,

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Please thank all of the team for the amazing job they did providing so many gifts for us to share this Christmas. We were able to provide quilts for all the babies across the unit and the teddy bears were a huge hit with the families. We really appreciate all of the effort that everyone has gone to. Please send best wishes to all.

Balwant,

Thank you so much for your visit. I was so touched by your story and heart warmed knowing your grandson has continued to grow in health and spirit.

The blankets and knitted cardigans are beautiful and will be cherished by our babies and their families. I fell in love with your little teddy and know they will be much loved.

I look forward to seeing you in December.

With love and sparkles

Carol
